Divers from the Nomad Exploration Team located the wreck of the SS Cornwallis nearly 400 feet underwater. This ship was torpedoed by a German submarine in December 1944, resulting in the deaths of 43 crew members. The submarine also secretly landed two Nazi spies on the coast of Maine just days before. The discovery highlights an important historical event involving espionage during World War II.
